Just Rest and Enjoy It!
A couple days ago, I wrote a post on the rest of God. As I was seeking God, I felt like I wasn’t finished with that topic, so here is a follow-up to that article.
For we which have believed do enter into rest. Hebrews 4:3a (KJV)
Believing what God has said helps us to rest in God.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Hebrews 4:9 (KJV)
Because there remains a rest, and because God wants us to remain in that rest, we can do so as we believe Him and take Him at His Word.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Hebrews 4:10 (KJV)
God set an example for us when He finished creation in six days and rested on the seventh. He rested not because He was tired (God never tires), but to show us that the work is completed. When Christ completed His work of redemption, He rested at the right hand of God. Ephesians 2:6 tells us that we are seated in heavenly places in Christ, therefore we are seated in a place of rest.
God doesn’t want us to strive in the flesh to obtain His promises. Jesus finished the work for us. All we have to do is believe and recceive everything that Jesus purchased for us. We have His guarantee.
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. II Corinthians 1:20 (KJV)
We don’t have to worry or wonder if God will keep His Word. We can rest in all that has already been done for us. Stop trying to work to get God to give you what you need. The work of redemption is finished and all you need has been provided.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. Ephesians 1:3 (KJV)
It’s time to come and take your rightful place at the table of God. Receive and enjoy all that Jesus Christ has done. Rest in His finished work, which was finished before the foundation of the world. Our labor is not a labor of works to make something happen- it is a labor of faith in receiving what Jesus did. And as we saw in Hebrews 4:10, the person who enters into the rest of God has ceased from his own works, just as God did when He finished creation.
It’s simple: believe, receive, and rest. It’s an all-inclusive deal; everything we need has been provided. Just rest and enjoy it!
