Living Worship

Yesterday's post spoke about true worship; worshipping the Lord in spirit and truth.  Let's expand on that a bit today and discuss what I'll call living worship.  Some people call it worship as a lifestyle.

Worship is intended to be more than just something we do for a capsule of time on Sunday.  It is to be something that flows out of us continually as a result of our intimate relationship with God.  It is intentional, yet automatic.  When we keep our focus on the Lord, our lives reflect a heart of worship.  And that worship manifests itself in the loving way we treat others, the peaceful way we go about the day, and the grace-filled words we speak.

Let's look at Ephesians 5:19 in the New Living Translation (NLT):

Singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.

Worship is to be an attitude that we walk in, a constant mindfulness of God and His goodness.  Worship brings the presence of God into our daily lives, because as Psalm 22:3 (KJV), says, "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel."  God dwells in, or is enthroned in our praises.  When we worship Him, He is there, living in our midst.

This presence of God in our lives brings power and anointing to heal, deliver and prosper those with whom we interact.  And worship as a way of life is key to bringing that to pass.  When we live in continual worship, we carry the tangible presence of God with us, touching others in amazing ways.
