We Have A Heavenly Father

I Corinthians 1:3 (KJV) says:

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

As born again children of God, we now have a heavenly Father.  The Bible says that God sent the Spirit of Sonship that lets us know that God is our Father and that we belong to Him and and He belongs to us. (Romans 8:15-17).

As a Father, God loves us, and that means He is always there with us and for us.  God will be faithful to the end and even throughout eternity.  We can have a relationship with Him that is one of trust, joy, and freedom.  We don't have to be afraid of our heavenly Father; He will never hurt us or wrong us. When all others leave or let us down, our Father will be there and will lift us up.

When we mess up, He will clean us up and help us to start again.  When we have a need, He will meet it.  He will teach, train and discipline us in love for our own good.  He will not do it with sickness or disease, or with a calamity, but with His Word (II Timothy 3:16-17).  When we hurt, He will comfort and heal. When we feel afraid, His perfect love will cast out fear.  When we need someone to lend a listening ear and to speak a clear, encouraging word, He will be there.

Many times only God our Father can take care of a situation we face.  He can heal us, provide needed finances, give us the right friends, or fill the void when we lose a loved one.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:8b (KJV), "your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."  And in Luke 12:32, He said it was the Father's good pleasure to give us the Kingdom.  We can trust Him with our lives.  He knows better than we do what we need and what's best for us.

In the Gospel of John, Jesus said that the Father Himself loves us as much as He loves Jesus (John 16:17, 17:23 KJV).  You can always know and believe the Father loves you.  Even when we fail God, He will not fail us.  This is because He is love (I John 4:8 KJV) and love never fails (I Corinthians 13:8 KJV).

I like what Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV) says:

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

God doesn't force us to love Him, but because our heavenly Father's love is so strong and overwhelming, we want to be around Him and love Him in return.  We can experience His love 24/7.  We know, as we pray and seek Him and turn to Him with our whole hearts, that He will work great and glorious things in us and for us.

All is well, for we have a heavenly Father.
