You Can Rebuild

The book of Nehemiah is a book of rebuilding what was once broken and torn down.  The children of Israel had turned from God and then had been taken captive by the Babylonians.  Nehemiah, an Israelite who was assigned as a cupbearer to the king of Babylon, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were broken down.  The thought disturbed him greatly, thinking of the protecting walls of the beloved city lying in ruins.

Nehemiah heard the bad news and was granted permission to go and rebuild the walls.  He arrived and inspected the area.  He then gathered leaders and people who had been left behind in Jerusalem after the Babylonian invasion.  He stationed them around the wall, and they began to build; day by day, stone upon stone.

When the enemies of the Jews heard about the rebuilding, they began to make trouble; assaulting and attacking.  To protect themselves and their work, Nehemiah had the workers armed and on their guard while they worked.  He sent up a prayer to God, asking Him to spoil the enemy's plans.  Through much perseverence and diligence, they managed to finish the wall.

When the enemy tries to stop you from building or rebuilding things God has called you to build such as relationships, homes, churches, businesses, or any dream at all, remember Nehemiah.  They worked while they had their weapons at their side.  We must work and rebuild while standing our post, holding onto God's Word.

They took what was left of the walls and gates and used that material in their rebuilding.  Take what's left of your situation and rebuild, even if all you have is the ashes of a dead dream.  Give it to God and do what He tells you to do.  He will breathe new life into it, turning your ashes into beauty (Isaiah 61:3).

The people of Jerusalem were willing to work, and work they did.  A project that looked to take a long time took only 52 days to complete.  No matter how things look right now  God can do a quick work of restoration and rebuilding in your life.  It might take some effort on your part, but He can cause supernatural acceleration to speed up the process.  Your dream can be rebuilt, not only quicker, but better and stronger than before.  What the enemy has torn down, God will help you raise back up.

A Word From The Lord For You:

What was broken down will be built back up, better, stronger, even bigger than before.  What the enemy has meant for bad, I will turn it for good.  The walls built up will protect you, and you will enjoy safety and prosperity- no fear ever again of your walls being broken down and your gates burnt with fire, for my eyes are upon you.  I will keep and protect and bless you.  Saith the Lord.
