Faith Vs. Fear
When he brings all his sheep out, he goes ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger. They will run away from him because they don’t know his voice.” John 10:4-5 (New Century Version, NCV)
Each and every day we are faced with the choice of which voice we will listen to: the voice of faith, or the voice of fear.
Fear says, “What are you going to do?”
Faith says, “I trust God.”
Fear says, “You’ll always be this way.”
Faith says, “God is changing me.”
Fear says, “Your needs will not be met.”
Faith says, “My God meets all my needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.
Fear says, “No one likes you.”
Faith says, “I have favor with God and man.”
Fear says, “You’re all alone.”
Faith says, “God is always with me.”
Fear says, “God will never use you.”
Faith says, “I’m a vessel that God works through.”
Fear says, “You cannot learn.”
Faith says, “I have the mind of Christ.”
Fear says, “You can’t do that.”
Faith says, “I can do all things through Christ.”
Fear says, “You’ll run out.”
Faith says, “God is more than enough.”
Fear says, “You’ll never have that.”
Faith says, “Ask and you shall receive.”
Fear says, “What is wrong with you?!?”
Faith says, “Here’s what’s right with you…”
Fear says, “It’s too late.”
Faith says, “It’s never too late with God.”
Fear says, “You totally messed that up.”
Faith says, “Try again.”
Fear says, “It’s impossible.”
Faith says, “With God all things are possible.”
Fear says, “There’s no way.”
Faith says, “God will make a way.”
I could continue this list on and on, but you get the idea. Victory or defeat is decided by the thoughts we decide to entertain. Faith or fear; Jesus or the devil- which voice will you follow?
