The Wonderful God of Love

God is love. I John 4:8 (KJV)

Because God is love, God loves us- and we don’t have to earn His love. We just believe and receive God Himself (who is love). He isn’t looking for perfection from us. That’s why He sent Jesus. We just need to receive God’s love to heal our insecurities, hurts, and rejection from ourselves and othes.

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:6 (KJV)

Since God loves us, we can accept ourselves and be who He made us to be: His children. We know we have a heavenly Father Who will be there for us, believe in us, help us, care for us, provide for us, accept us, and love us. We can forget the past, knowing we are forgiven and all mistakes have been forgotten. We can live in the present because we understand that God is with us. And we can be at peace about our futures because we know God has a good plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11).

Because God loves us, we can tust Him, believe His Word, and get to know our loving Father intimately. His love does for us what we could never do for ourselves: give us grace, favor, blessings, peace, joy, and protection. He makes a way for us, bringing us out of bondage and condemnation to bring us in to all He has promised and provided.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. I John 4:16 (KJV)

Knowing and believing God’s love for us is key to experiencing His goodness in our lives on an ongoing basis. His love is everlasting- it will never wear out or run out. He will always love us no matter what.

The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)
