Love Yourself
As we enter this new year and new decade, I believe the Lord wants me to stress to you that you are valuable. It is time for you to recognize your own worth and love who you are. God thinks about you constantly and you are His beloved, so you need to align your thinking with His and see yourself the way He does.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! Psalm 139:17 (New Living Translation, NLT)
Throughout the eons of eternity past, God was preparing a place for you in His great plan for mankind. He had you designed and your life and time set before you ever drew breath. God has taken great care in creating you. You are one of a kind, rare indeed. He does not go one second without thinking of you. And His thoughts and plans for you are so good.
I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (God’s Word Translation, GW)
Throughout all the ages of history, there has never been another pseron like you- no one with your qualities, personality, talents and abilities has ever existed before. You are who you are by God’s grand design. And because His works are always good, you need to embrace who you are. You are special because God has made you special. Don’t reject those unique qualities that set you apart from others, but see them as God’s proof that you are an original. Don’t belittle the person He has made you to be.
And don’t disregard the purpose He has for you either. God created you because you are needed. Everything God makes has a purpose and use. You were born at the perfect time, in the perfect place and with the perfect set of characteristics to fulfill a specific purpose in the earth. You have an assignment. God needs you to fulfill it so His overall plan can come to pass. You will do things and touch people that no one else can. Quit focusing on what you view as shortcomings and pay more attention to how God wants to work through you. He has equipped you to succeed.
You are like a tree, planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time; your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun. No matter what you do, you prosper. Psalm 1:3 (The Voice, VOICE)
Big things are coming- really good things. God has a plan for you to be right in the middle of it all, so embrace your God-given identity. Love yourself. And love yourself just the way you are- because God certainly does.
