Our Father is Watching Over Us
“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:28-31 (New Living Translation, NLT)
God watches over us and out for us. He sees when a small sparrow falls and He even knows the number of hairs on our heads. The Lord watches over every detail of our lives. He sees when we are hurt and He knows when we’re lonely.
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8 (KJV)
The Bible says he guides us with His eyes. In other words, He sees where we need to be and what we need to do. When He provides for us or gives us favor, He is watching over us (Philippians 4:19, Psalm 5:12). He protects us from harm, danger or accident (Psalm 91). God has our backs, and He’s got us covered (Isaiah 58:8, Psalm 23:6, Psalm 61:4). He works things out for our good- actually for our best (Romans 8:28, Genesis 50:20, Philippians 2:6-11).
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24 (New Living Translation, NLT)
When we don’t know or understand the circumstances of life, He does, and that’s enough because we know God. We know He loves us and is always there for us (Matthew 1:23, Matthew 28:20, John 3:16, Hebrews 13:5). Even in the worst situations, we can know God is with us, even when it doesn’t feel like He is. We don’t have to fear or worry about what will happen to us (Isaiah 41:10, Isaiah 43:1-7, I Peter 5:7) or about what people will do to us or not do for us. God will meet our needs and take care of us. He will put us where He wants us (Psalm 75:6-7)and He will bless us because we have a Father who loves us and cares for us at all times (Luke 12:32).
So, be assured, your heavenly Father is watching over you carefully and completely.
