Abandoned Love

When you live a life of abandoned love, a life totally sold out to the love of God, here’s what you’ll experience:

  1. Abundant life,

  2. Continual protection,

  3. Complete satisfaction.

The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. Proverbs 19:23 (KJV)

When you live a life of abandoned love, surrendered before the awe of God, here’s what you’ll experience: Abundant life. Continual protection. And complete satisfaction! Proverbs 19:23 (The Passion Translation, TPT)

When I came to the Lord years ago, I chose to forsake all my sinful ways because I fell in love with Jesus. I loved Jesus more than I loved myself or my sin. Was it hard to leave a life of sin and death? No, it really wasn’t. I thank the Lord that I ran toward Jesus as fast as I could and away from sin as hard as I could. Far beyond the way I used to sin, I now live ever greater for Jesus. And as a result, I have experienced abundant life, continual protection, and complete satisfaction as promised in Proverbs.

Abundant Life:

Just as John 10:10 says, Jesus came to give us abundant life, so as we come to Him daily, we experience the abundant life. We experience this through His promises (II Peter1:3) and our union with Him (Ephesians 6:10).

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, II Peter 1:3 (NKJV)

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Ephesians 6:10 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)

Abundant life is God’s life; life the way God has it. That is life with peace, joy, victory, authority, and no lack.

Continual Protection:

This reminds me of Psalm 91, which says that whoever dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide, or remain, in His presence, or in the shadow of His wings. Living in God’s presence brings protection. Psalm 91 states that while evil may be happening all around us, it won’t come near those who stay in God’s protective presence. No evil will befall us, but we will experience protection and deliverance. We will be positioned above all the trouble that is going on. God will answer in our time of need, and satisfy us with long life and show us His salvation.

Complete Satisfaction:

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)

The New Testament says that Jesus is at God’s right hand, therefore when we find Jesus we find joy and satisfaction, pleasures forevermore. As a result, we can say, as Paul did in Philippians 4:11, that we have learned to be content no matter what state we are in. The reason it is possible to say this is because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).

I am not saying this because I am in need. I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances.  I know how to survive in tight situations, and I know how to enjoy having plenty. In fact, I have learned how to face any circumstances: fed or hungry, with or without.  I can be content in any and every situation through the Anointed One who is my power and strength. Philippians 4:11-13 (The Voice, VOICE)

Nothing will move us to despair; instead our faith and hope is constantly in Jesus. We have abandoned ourselves to Him, forsaking our own selfish desires and all that would draw us away from the Lord.

Living with an abandoned love, totally sold out to the One who loves us completely, gives us everything we will ever need.
