Change Will Happen

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6 (KJV)

Do you ever get tired of dealing with the same weaknesses, sins, habits, mindsets, or behavior patterns? If the answer is yes, don’t lose hope. God cares, and He will never give up on us- even when we give up on ourselves or when others give up on us. God is in the business of changing people.

I remember the mess I was before coming to Jesus. I was living in sin and liking it. Yet, God saved me and began to change me.

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:32 (KJV)

This is saying that God didn’t hold Jesus back from us, which is the best He could give, so God will give us all we need. Jesus is a guarantee, so God can and will change us if we let Him. We do this by saying to no to what we want and yes to what he wants.

Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. II Corinthians 3:17-18 (KJV)

So how do we change?

  1. We change by the faith that comes from God’s Word. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (KJV)

  2. We change by renewing our minds to God’s Word. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 (KJV)

  3. We change once right thinking produces right speaking. When the Word transforms our thinking, we begin to think right, then speak right. Change your thoughts to change your speaking. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)

  4. We change by acting on God’s Word. Acting on the Word moves us from just saying to actually doing God’s will. As we act on the Word, it changes us to be Christ-like. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1:22 (KJV)

  5. We change by spending time with God, in His presence, even through worship. Spending time in the Word is spending time in His presence, and we are changed from glory to glory. And as we worship and enjoy the Lord, we are taken higher and deeper in Him and His Word. A supernatural thing takes place over and over, where we are changed from the inside out. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11 (KJV)

See my friend, change is not impossible. It is a process that occurs when we spend time with God and His Word. Stay encouraged- and stay in the Word. Change will happen.
