Honor God
Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble. Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you. Psalms 50:15 (The Passion Translation, TPT)
How do we honor God? This verse tells us that we honor Him when we trust Him in our day of trouble, not trying to fix it ourselves or trying to make something happen. When we try to take care of it on our own when God says to wait and trust Him, we will just mess it up and delay things.
What we need to do is cry out to God. After all, that is what we did when we were not living for Jesus. And when we did cry out, He heard us, saved us, and rescued us. Since we are now His children, how much more will He do for us when we call out to Him?
The life that pleases me is a life lived in the gratitude of grace, always choosing to walk with me in what is right. This is the sacrifice I desire from you. If you do this, more of my salvation will unfold for you.” Psalms 50:23 (TPT)
We please and honor God when we live in a gratitude of grace. Grace helps us to be thankful that God loves us, is for us, and is our Father who provides for us. And as we choose to walk with Him in what is right, we honor Him. To honor Him, we choose to take the right path, even though it may seem like a difficult path at the time. Doing right isn’t always easy, but it is always right to do right. God is honored by an upright life. Verse 23 continues and says, “This is the sacrifice I desire from you. If you do this, more of my salvation will unfold for you.” As we make the right choices and walk with God, His plan will unfold for us, and we will see God and His goodness in our lives.
Since Jesus was the supreme sacrifice Who gave His all, we can follow His example and trust God for the outcome. When we do so, it honors God and it assures us of a good result.
