The Thaw
We have now entered the month of March. Today the Lord brought to my mind the old proverbial saying, “March comes in like a Lion, goes out like a Lamb,” which has been used for decades, if not centuries, to describe weather in the month of March. March usually begins with ferocious wintry weather, somewhat like the temperment of a lion, and often has tamed down considerably by the end of the month into more lamb-like temperatures.
Most of us are aware that the Lord Jesus came to earth the first time as the Lamb that takes away the sins of the world (John 1:29), and that when He returns, He will come as the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5). While we could dive into this concept and gain valuable insights, today I believe the Lord would have us go in a different direction with our discussion.
As I considered this old proverb, I noticed the implication of it. It indicates a turning point from one season to another- a transition. I really believe that right now is the time where things are changing and transitioning. I am not speaking of the weather, although what is happening in the spirit parallels the changes in the weather. Many of us in the Body of Christ have been in a season of winter- cold and barren with little seemingly going on. It seems as if the winter will go on forever and the things we are believing for have been frozen solid. But, this month, we are reaching the turning point. Things are thawing. And as things thaw, they break loose. There is a thawing, a breaking, in our situations. A thaw is happening in our finances, in our health, in our relationships, in our emotional and mental wellbeing. Things are breaking loose. Those of us who begin this month with obstacles and challenges in areas of our lives will see them turn around by the end of the month. In the natural, as the weather thaws, it provides the water necessary for spring plants to grow and flourish. In the same way, I believe that when we move into April, we will be positioned supernaturally to flourish in abundance. Supernatural growth will take place, and the miraculous will manifest.
Today, as I bring this Word to you, I believe I am to emphasize that we have a role in seeing this come to pass. We must continue to stand in faith as we enter this month, continuing to confess and believe the Word. We must continue to walk in the things the Lord has told us to do, whether it be in the area of giving, praying, spending time with Him, etc. Right before every manifestation, the enemy tries extra hard to bring discouragement and fatigue so that we will give up and abort it right as it is about to happen.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
Stand just a bit longer. In like a lion, out like a lamb- this month is the month of the thaw, the transition, the turning point. It is the time of your due season. Rejoice!
