Love Is Who He Is
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9 (KJV)
According to this verse, when we sin, God will forgive us. God’s love is greater than our sins. Even when we make bad decisions, when we sin, God still loves us. He forgives and accepts us. Man may hold a grudge and refuse to forgive, but God is not that way. God will still use us when man says, “You’re finished.”
God doesn’t stop loving us when we sin. This is because His love is everlasting due to the fact that God is love. His love for us is not based on who we are or how we act, but on Who He is.
The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love. [He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.] I John 4:8 (Amplified Bible, AMP)
There is nothing we can do to make God love us more or love us less. God loves us because it is His identity, and He cannot and will not forsake Who He is. He has chosen to love us, even if we don’t love Him. Even if we reject Him, He still loves us.
Once a person experiences the real, authentic, accepting love of God, they are drawn to the Lord. It is God’s goodness and love that make people want Him. And God will never turn anyone away who comes to Him.
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. John 6:37 (KJV)
If you think you have gone too far from God and done too many bad things for Him to love and accept you, think again. God is in the business of receiving us, not rejecting us. His love is freely given to us because He desires to extend His forgiveness and mercy. He loves because love is who He is. Just come to Him and accept what He is offering.
