A One-Time Offer

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 (KJV)

Today, Saturday, April 27, 2019, is the only day like it we will have. This exact date will never occur again. After this day is over, there is no getting it back. It is what you might call a one-time offer. What we do with this unique, one-of-a-kind moment in time is of the utmost importance. We can choose to enjoy and rejoice in it, like the psalmist did, or we can choose to waste it through dissatisfaction, anger, bitterness, or even laziness. We need to seize this moment and do everything we can with it because it is our only opportunity to do so.

What is the nature of your life? You are [really] but a wisp of vapor (a puff of smoke, a mist) that is visible for a little while and then disappears [into thin air]. James 4:14b (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)

Life really is short. While that is not an excuse for living life in reckless pursuit of pleasure, we need to use every minute we have on this earth to pursue God and His kingdom. And we need to enjoy our life right here, right now, no matter what circumstances may look like.

Live today in such a way that tomorrow you can look back on it with satisfaction and smile. We must live this life wisely, seeking God in all we do and relying on His guidance in all things. What a shame it would be to get to the end of life and realized we missed the whole point of it all.

When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is almighty God] and keep His commandments, for this applies to every person. Ecclesiastes 12:13 (Amplified Bible, AMP)

Time is a valuable commodity. Each of us is here for a limited time, and it would be a shame to waste even one second of the life God has given us.
