Love Vs. Lust

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. I John 2:16 (KJV)

Many people equate the word lust with impure sexual desires. While it does refer to that in some instances, the definition of the word lust also includes the following: a passionate or overmastering desire or craving. An example is the lust for power. Lust is of the enemy and is contrary to love. Love gives, while lust takes. Let’s compare love and lust side by side. I have listed many noticeable contrasts between the two.
