Don't Buy The Lie

The devil was a murderer from the beginning. He has never been truthful. He doesn’t know what the truth is. Whenever he tells a lie, he’s doing what comes naturally to him. He’s a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44 (God’s Word Translation, GW)

The devil never tells the truth. Everything he says is a lie. When he speaks to us, we can be sure it is false. He uses certain lies to try to pull us away from God by stealing the Word from our hearts. Be sure you don’t buy any of these lies.

Don’t buy the lie that noboy likes you or accepts you or gets you. The enemy wants you to withdraw and not get involved with people to try prevent yourself from rejection. This serves to isolate all of us in the body of Christ, which limits our ability to work in the power of unified prayer and anointing. The truth is that no one gets any of us but Jesus (Hebrews 4:14-16), and He will not reject us. Because He loves us, we can love ourselves and one another, even if we don’t totally understand each other.

Don’t buy the lie that things will never change. Jesus said that all things are possible (Mark 9:23), including changing you, the people in your life, circumstances, etc.

Don’t buy the lie that you’ll never find a mate. God is faithful. If you desire a mate, He wants to give you the desires of your heart. He has someone for you. Wait on Him and He will bring the right person along. Don’t allow the enemy to pressure you into marrying the wrong person out of fear that you will always be alone. Marriage to the wrong person can be worse than being unmarried. Rest that God has a plan and wait on His perfect timing. He may be using this time to prepare you and your future mate for one another. He has made all things beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Don’t buy the lie that you’ll never have anything and that you’ll always be broke or barely getting by. God is the God who is more than enough. He can and will meet your need, with plenty left over to give to others. We may not always see how God is working to make things happen, but we can be sure that He is . Believe God’s Word, which is the truth and says that He will supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Seek His way of doing things instead of this world’s way, and everything you need will be taken care of (Matthew 6:33).

Always remember that God’s Word is true and the devil’s word is a lie. When we know the truth, it is easy to spot the lies.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 (KJV)

Knowing the Word of God enables us to spot the lies of the devil and reject them immediately. When we recognize the liar is in our midst trying to deceive us, we have the ability to chase the devil and his lies from our presence.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (KJV)

When we are full of the Word and the Holy Spirit, we will be led into all truth and we will walk in the truth. Thus, we won’t buy the lie.
