Proclaim and Claim
As we hear from the Lord, we need to proclaim what the Lord is saying so we can claim it for ourselves.
The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy? Amos 3:8 (KJV)
Although God says something, He must find someone to agree with Him in order to see that Word come to pass. As we speak God’s Word, then He watches over His Word to bring it to pass.
God sent an angel to the virgin Mary for the purpose of delivering a word to her. Upon hearing it, she said, “Be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38). In saying this, she gave God something to work with. She proclaimed the promise that was given, and she claimed it by believing God.
As we proclaim the promises of God, we can also claim them. What we proclaim over our lives, we can have if we believe what we are saying.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23 (KJV)
If you are sick, proclaim that “by His stripes I am healed” (I Peter 2:24). If you have a need, proclaim Philippians 4:19, speaking that God meets all your needs. What we proclaim, we claim with our words of faith. When we proclaim the scripture, we are claiming what it says for ourselves. In proclaiming, we prophesy the outcome we want. (See Ezekiel 37:1-14).
As we claim God’s promises by proclaiming them, we shall obtain them through faith and patience.
We must hold tightly to the hope that we say is ours. After all, we can trust the one who made the agreement with us. Hebrews 10:23 (Contemporary English Version, CEV)
