You Have A Place

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. I Corinthians 12-14 (KJV)

I Corinthians 12:12-27 speaks of the body of Christ and each one of its members. Just as our physical bodies have many parts, each with a function, so does the body of Christ. Even one missing part impacts the proper functioning of the human body, and the same is true of the Lord’s body.

Each member of the body is important to Christ and to the other members. The more each person gets involved in the local church, the better our churches will function. We all have a supply to bring. We all have gifts that can be used to bless and build up the body of Christ. Don’t belittle yourself or your gift. Without you, the church body won’t function the way Jesus wants it to.

Remember the Head of the body, Jesus, will never say to one of the members of His body “I don’t need you.” We all have a place in His body. Find your place and function in that place- and we’ll all be better off for it.

Now you [collectively] are Christ’s body and [individually] you are members of it, each part severally and distinct [each with his own place and function]. I Corinthians 12:27 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)
