Restoring Your Hope

Jesus spoke to my heart recently and said, “Some people, their hearts are sick from disappointment and they don’t believe anymore; they’ve stopped hoping.” Then He said, “I know how to heal hearts that hurt, so they can start believing and receiving.”

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13 (KJV) emphasis mine

After I heard the Lord speak, I read a daily devotion entry entitled “What Are You Hoping For?” Obviously, the devotion talked about hope, and confirmed I was on the right track about this blog post. I know there are many people right now who feel hopeless.

Hope is a powerful thing. Several years ago, the Lord showed me that “hope is the target and faith is the arrow.” In other words, without hope, we have nothing to aim at with our faith. Selah.

My friend, when we lose hope, God can restore it. He is our hope. He will give us back the desire to dream, believe and expect good things. The scripture above tells us that God will fill us with all joy and peace in believing so we can abound, or overflow, in hope- not in despair or discouragement. The Holy Spirit can bring a supernatural hope that withstands trials and endures periods of waiting. This hope cannot be shaken or stolen.

The key is that we cannot get that hope from any old place- it comes from God. He has great plans for you and your life. Go to the Lord and ask Him to restore your hope. He is faithful to do just that.

Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope! Romans 15:13 (The Passion Translation, TPT)
