Producing Good Fruit

And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. Luke 17:6 (KJV)

This verse shows how powerful faith really is. Faith has the power to get to the root issue of any problem. And the root is usually the source of the problem.

If there is bad fruit in your life, I suggest that you check the root, or the condition of your heart. A person’s heart condition is exposed by their words. Words reveal heart issues, whether good or bad, bitter or sweet. When we get to the issues of our hearts, we get to the root issues of our lives. A root can be hurt, disappointment, rejection and so on. And when our roots are negative, our lives are negative as a result. Bad root produces bad fruit.

Jesus gave us a clue about how to deal with root issues: speak to them. No matter how deep the root or how long it has been there, begin to use your words to help and not hinder yourself. Speak to the root issue with God’s Word and begin to enforce your blood-bought authority with your mouth. If you are consistent, you will start to see those root issues plucked up and cast out of your life. God has given us a weapon that is stronger than any root- His Word. Let His Word become your words by speaking it. Negative things will be uprooted and you will begin to produce good fruit in your life.
