God Is Able

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. II Corinthians 9:8 (KJV)

There was a point in time when my wife and I found ourselves in quite a spot. We had no jobs and our apartment lease was about to expire. We believed God had called us to the region where we were, even though we were far from family and friends.

In an act of faith, we gave our landlord our notice that we were moving out at the end of our lease. We had no place lined up to go to. We had no source of income identified. We just trusted that God would take care of us. To the natural mind, what we were doing made no sense.

God came through, of course. My wife got a job making more than she had ever made before. He gave us a place to live, and He even provided finances to move us. Our situation had looked bleak but the Lord lined everything up for us.

Because we lived so far from family, we had no one to turn to but God. And we learned something significant as a result. When God is all you have, you will find that God is all you need. God will meet every need- and it is normally done at the midnight hour (see Acts 16). Regardless, God makes all grace abound to meet every need so you can do whatever He has called you to do. He did it for us, and He’ll do it for you. My friend, God is definitely able!
