Your Life Has Purpose- Part 1

According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ephesians 3:11 (KJV)

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will. Ephesians 1:11 (KJV)

Mankind has many questions, and the answers are found in God. Therefore those who reject God reject the very answers they seek.

  1. Who made me?

  2. Who am I?

  3. Why am I here?

  4. What is my purpose?

  5. How can I find and fulfill my purpose?

  6. After this life, what comes next?

These are all common questions, but the answers are found only in the Bible. Only God can give us the answers we need.

  1. Who made me? God made mankind (Genesis 1).

  2. Who am I? A unique person divinely created and made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-28).

  3. Why am I here? To know God (John 17:3) and to glorify God (I Corinthians 10:31).

  4. What is my purpose? To be and do specifically what God has assigned you (Acts 17:28).

  5. How can I find and fulfill my purpose? Give your life to Jesus and He will show you your purpose (John 3:3, Ephesians 2:10).

  6. After this life, what comes next? There are only two eternal places where people may go after this life is over: heaven (for those who choose Christ) and hell (for those who reject Christ) (Deuteronomy 30:19, Acts 3:12, Matthew 25:34, 41)

God made you on purpose for a purpose- to be the unique person He intended you to be; spirit, soul and body (Psalm 139, I Thessalonians 5:23). Your spirit is to be born again and have a personal relationship with God, who is a spirit. It is to be a spiritual relationship based on the Word of God.

God made you one-of-a-kind. You were created to be loving, smart, funny, wise, etc. And He specifically gave you the personality, interests, and talents to fulfill the destiny He has planned for you. It is not some random thing that you are who you are and that you are on this planet at this time. It is a God-orchestrated thing, and every person has a role to play in God’s plan for Earth- including you. At the core of it all, your purpose is to glorify the God who made you and become more and more Christ-like through the Word and the Spirit of God. Once you know who you are (a child of God), your purpose will become evident. In other words, your “do” will spring forth out of your “who.”
