The Account is Settled

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9 (KJV)

When you mess up, confess up. Tell God what you did, ask forgiveness, and then receive it. You cna have a ledger full of wrongs, sins, and failures, but when you ask God to forgive and cleanse you, He erases the ledger. He removes the record of any wrongdoing. All accounts are cancelled and settled.

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Colossians 2:14 (KJV)

He took all those nasty ledger entries and nailed them to His cross. The bad account that was held against us is no longer held against us. Jesus settled the account when He paid the price we couldn’t pay- the price for sin.

Now when you come to God, there is no record of any wrongdoing, because jesus made you righteous. We don’t have to be held captive by our own past sins or our shortcomings. When we are in Christ, we are complete.

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Colossians 2:10 (KJV)

Your best efforts will never be enough to settle the accounts, so God, Who was and is more than enough made you more than enough in Christ Jesus. The accounts are now settled, the books are balanced, and you can live free of the sin debt, owing nothing but to love others as God loves you.
