Don't Be Shaken

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. II Thessalonians 2:2 (KJV)

The word mind in this verse is the Greek word nous, which refers to one’s will, emotions and the ability to think, reason and decide. The enemy will try all kinds of tactics and schemes to unravel us, get us upset, shake us and trouble us.

The devil attacks us in the mind to trouble our thoughts and emotions so we can’t think right. He wants to impact our ability to make sound decisions through stirring up our emotions.

We must keep our wits when trouble comes. Don’t be shaken or troubled by what you see going on in the world today. You can choose to stay calm and peaceful, keeping your emotions stable. Don’t believe everything you hear- even the thoughts the devil tries to bring to your mind. Know the Word and stand on its truth, confident that Christ will come to remove us from this earth at the precisely right time, to keep us from the wrath to come. We are not appointed to wrath, but we will be removed in the nick of time, to escape the horrific seven year period known as the tribulation.

As we look at the state of society and the world, we must know what the Word says and weigh everything accordingly. When we view things through the lens of the Word of God, we have more peace and even crazy circumstances make more sense to us. When we look at the Bible and look at the world, we see how things are lining up for Christ to come for His church. Don’t be shaken or fearful- be encouraged. He’s coming soon. Look up, your redemption draws near!
