Pumpkin Spice and an End to the Vice

We all enjoy fall flavors and colors. Pumpkin Spice is all the rage this time of year and it makes us think of harvest. As I was thinking about pumpkin spice I wondered if it was anywhere in the Bible. And I found out the word pumpkin is not in there. However, God led me to then look up the word harvest and what I found was very exciting- at least for those who are walking with the Lord.

“Wake up, nations, and come to attack in the Valley Where the Lord Judges. There I will sit to judge all the nations on every side. Swing the cutting tool, because the harvest is ripe. Come, walk on them as you would walk on grapes to get their juice, because the winepress is full and the barrels are spilling over, because these people are so evil!” There are huge numbers of people in the Valley of Decision, because the Lord’s day of judging is near in the Valley of Decision. Joel 3:12-14 (New Century Version, NCV)

This verse talks of the Lord’s judgment of the wicked. Evil people who thought they could get away with wicked plans are brought before the Lord to receive the harvest of the evil they have sown. The wicked will only have their way for so long and then the Lord will allow their wickedness to come back on their own heads. Our God is just and will not allow injustice and unrighteousness to go unpunished.

We are entering into harvest time, my friends. While the combines and other harvesting machines are cutting wheat, and corn, and other crops, the Lord will be cutting down the wicked. And as the hay is mowed and bound into bales, the evil perpetrators will be brought down and bound in handcuffs and prison cells- if they survive.

Even more exciting, we are entering into a great harvest of souls. The fields are white unto harvest and the events taking place in the world will bring people to the realization that God is real and that they need Him. More than the removal of wicked people, the great awakening of people to the Lord will change the world and every area of society. Each arena of life will be transformed, from education to government to entertainment to media- it will all be cleaned up and will glorify God as people are changed by the power of God. The world will be a drastically better place as the harvest of the Lord is brought in.

Yes, pumpkin spice is nice, but an end to the vice of the world is even better. Let’s stay in anticipation for something very, very good to happen in the soon coming days.
