Harvest Time is Now

Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35 (KJV)

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37-38 (KJV)

The Lord has been speaking a lot about the harvest lately. Recently, I was looking out my front window at a cotton field nearby. The fluffy balls of cotton were big and soft and white on the plants. I heard the Lord speak these words to my heart: “Look at the fields. They’re white unto harvest. It’s harvest time.” God was saying through this object lesson that it is time to reach lost souls. The church must wake up and see humanity as it is- lost without Jesus. The Lord confirmed this to me when a few days later I saw a huge, yellow, full moon hanging in the sky- a harvest moon.

The world needs a Savior. We must go out into the harvest fields. We must first see the need, then ask God to send laborers into His harvest. As we pray, God will raise us up and send us forth to reap the harvest. Prayer prepares the way for God to work. Some plant, and some water, but God gives the increase.

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. I Corinthians 3:6-9 (KJV)

Prayer moves God, then God moves us, then we as co-laborers with God will reach and win the lost. As we pray, God will draw the lost to hear the Gospel. Then we throw out the salvation net. As we act upon Jesus’ words, we will reap a harvest. Surely Jesus will receive the souls He died to save and have. By this, Jesus will receive the nations for His inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for His possession (Psalm 2:8)
