Delivered

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears…. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them…. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:4, 7, 17 (KJV)

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses…. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:6, 20 (KJV)

All through the Old and New Testament the deliverance of the Lord is proclaimed. The word deliverance means to rescue from, to preserve from and to deliver. God has promised to deliver us from whatever we’re going through or whatever might be coming our way- as we call upon His Name. The word deliverance is synonymous with the Greek word sozo, which is usually translated saved or save.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 (KJV)

Sozo means to save, to deliver or protect, to make whole, to heal, be whole, preserve. It refers to deliverance from danger, suffering, death, etc.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son. Colossians 1:13 (KJV)

Because we’ve called on Jesus, we are delivered from everything that has to do with the power of darkness. We’re delivered from sickness and brought into healing, health and wholeness. We’re delivered from poverty into abundance and blessing, from misery to peace- nothing missing, nothing broken. We’re delivered from harm and have divine protection. We’re even delivered from the wrath to come; the great tribulation (I Thessalonians 1:10, Revelation 3:10).

As we begin to use our divine authority in Christ through the Name of Jesus, speaking His Word and declaring His blood, we enforce our victory in Christ. When we do, God has promised to give us breakthrough. Call upon the Name of the Lord and see His salvation and deliverance. He will make a way and take us from sickness to health, from poverity to prosperity, and from darkness to light. Deliverance is ours!
