Fight A Good Fight With Prophecy

I Timothy 1:18 (KJV) says:

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

This same scripture in the Modern English Version (MEV):

This command I commit to you, my son Timothy, according to the prophecies that were previously given to you, that by them you might fight a good fight,

Many years ago, we received a prohetic word declaring, "You will never lack for anything."  Now, that may seem like a very basic word with little detail, but it was all we needed for what was ahead.  Shortly after that, the Lord directed us to move to South Carolina, where we lived for over 12 years.  During our years in South Carolina, we experienced much adversity.  Overall, it was a season of warfare for us.  In all we went through, we never lacked what we needed.  God provided for us in every aspect of life.  We hit some pretty rough spots, extremely rough spots actually, but we used that prophetic word as a weapon to wage war against the enemy.  When circumstances looked grim, we reminded ourselves and the devil that God said we would lack for nothing- finances, health, peace, etc.  We used the prophecy to do as Paul directed Timothy: war a good warfare.  We used the Word as a weapon against the adversary.  And I might add, we came out of that season victorious and stronger in faith.

You will go through things- we all do.  When you do, speak what God has said about you and act like it is so.  You will see God's faithfulness as you hold onto His Word.

A good warfare is one in which you enforce the victory that Christ already gave you by declaring what God has said.  Then, stand still and see God bring it to pass.  Prophetic words are given to us to fight the good fight of faith.  So, use prophetic words as a weapon to walk in the victory of Christ.
