The Best Insurance Policy

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Tithing is such a powerful thing; no wonder the devil fights it so much. He tries his best to discourage us from tithing by telling us that we won’t have enough money to meet our needs if we give God ten percent off the top. He lies and tells us that tithing was a part of the law and we are no longer under that system. He is right that we are no longer under the law, but tithing was established and done BEFORE the law of Moses came into effect. Therefore, it has not been cancelled or done away with. Why does he come against it so much? Because our tithe is a powerful weapon in defeating him.

When we tithe, God responds by flinging open the windows, or floodgates, of heaven to pour out a supernatural blessing- so much we can’t hold it all. In addition, God then protects what He has given us from destruction because we honored Him by giving Him the tithe. In other words, our cars should last longer and run better, our appliances should go well beyond their warranties, our health should remain good, and so on. The tithe works to protect us from the enemy stealing from us. And the devil hates it. That is why he constantly tries to keep us from tithing.

And when we walk in the kind of blessing that the tithe provides, it is a witness to the unbelievers. They will see how we are prosperous and protected, and they will want what we have. And that is the biggest threat of all to the devil.

So, instead of questioning the idea of tithing, see it for what it is- the best insurance policy on the planet. God is not trying to take from us, but instead He wants to have access to our lives to bless us. The tithe gives Him that access. And He will rebuke the devourer for our sakes, protecting us and ours from destruction.

Right now, make the quality decision to tithe- consistently from now until you go to heaven. Test and try God in this. He is faithful and He will indeed fling open the windows of heaven and pour His blessings all over you!
