How to Cooperate With God for a Miracle
And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all. Mark 6:41 (KJV)
This verse demonstrates what must be done to get a miracle. It says that God has a part and we have a part. With miracles, it isn’t just God and it isn’t just man. Without the two parties cooperating, a miracle wouldn’t take place. Our part is the natural and God’s part is the supernatural. When they connect, they release heaven’s miracle-working power.
Jesus gave the five loaves to the disciples to hand out, while Jesus handed out the two fish Himself. Five speaks of grace, or the power and ability of God working on our behalf. Two represents witness, or testimony. When you add them together, you have seven, which is God’s number of completion and perfection. The disciples relied on grace (five), with Jesus forming the witness (two). It added up to God’s perfect scenario comig to pass; a miracle! As we do what Jesus tells us, by His grace we work with Him. The disciples were witnesses of the miracle of God that was completed that day.
It all started with someone giving to God what was available, thus cooperating with God by obeying His direction. God does His part and we do ours. Then, we see a perfect miracle whereby people are cared for and needs are met. It allows God’s power to be displayed. As we give to God what we have, our natural combines with His supernatural. His supernatural power comes on the natural and produces a miracle. This is what must be done for a miracle to happen.
