All Things- Part 3
Today we’ll conclude our discussion of all things turning out for our good. We’ve spent a good deal of time in Romans 8, but we’re going to go there one more time to wrap up this series.
Yesterday we saw in Romans 8:26-29 that as we pray in the Spirit, God takes all things and works them together for our good. All things are not good in themselves, yet God is good and He does us good. Bad things don’t come from God, but they occur due to our bad choices, other people’s bad choices, the enemy’s attacks, or just from living in a fallen world. Regardless, God can take it all and turn it to good, with the ultimate good being the development of Christ-like character in us. You might say that God is the expert in taking lemons and making lemonade.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:30-39 (KJV)
We see that all things work out for good because God is for us. God gave us His Son and this shows us He will give us all we need. He loves us and does not condemn us. No matter what we go through, nothing can stop God from loving us. Because we know, believe, and receive God’s love for us, we can overcome anything. God’s love never fails. We are more than conquerors in all we face. Jesus has already overcome it all for us and has given us His victory.
As we do Romans 8,
We will go from victory to victory
We will go from faith to faith
We will go from glory to glory
We know that nothing can separate us from our Father’s love, and we are safe and secure. We know God is working all things out for our ultimate good and for our best.
As we give thanks in the Name of Jesus, pray in the Spirit, and rest in the love of the Father, we will see the fulfillment of Romans 8. It is already ours, and as we walk this out in greater and greater measure, we will taste and see that the Lord is good- in all things.
