The Pure Word
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalm 12:6 (KJV)
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. Psalm 19:8 (KJV)
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. John 15:3 (KJV)
In the first verse above, God’s Word is described as pure, as pure as silver that is purified seven times. Seven represents completion in Scripture. The Word of God is completely pure. It is clean and holy. There is no mixture of any kind in it- nothing has contaminated it. What God says has no impurities- no doubt, fear, worry or lack of power.
To see results, we must receive God’s Word as pure. The problem with our humanity is we deal with sin, hurt, failure, betrayal, injustice and so on. We have to receive God’s Word with a pure heart, with no mixture of our human side thrown in with it. We do this by faith. God’s Word brings faith when heard (Romans 10:17). As we receive God’s pure Word, it will cleanse all impurities of any kind. His Word is pure and can make us pure, clean, washed, and brand new. And it empowers us to receive more of the pure Word of God.
God’s Word is true and passes every test. So, receive it and let it do its work in you to purify you so you can pass every test and follow God’s plan for your life.
