God Finishes What He Starts

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 (NKJV)

This says that God always finishes what He starts. He sees the end from the beginning. As the Potter, He saw you as the finished product before He ever started working on you. God works on us and in us right up until the day of Jesus Christ, referring to the rapture when Christ catches us away and takes us to Heaven.

Knowing this helps us when we fail so we don’t lose our confidence, which carries great reward. When we are tempted to feel bad about ourselves or our performance, we must remember that God is continually working a good work in us. He is taking us from weakness to strength, from failure to success, from pain and sickness to healing, wholeness and divine life. God never gives up on us even when we do.

He works in us and washes us through His process of making us Christlike- right up until the rapture. As we yield to him, we become more and more like Jesus. Knowing this truth gives us hope, encouragement, strength, and vision to keep growing in the Lord. And whatever percentage of Christlikeness we don’t receive on this side of eternity, we will receive on the day of Christ when He makes us 100 percent like Him.
