Disappointment or Opportunity?

Disappointment or Opportunity?

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Luke 16:10 (KJV)

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21 (KJV)

We’ve all experienced situations where we started out with high hopes only to be disappointed. That’s okay, as long as we learn from them. At least we tried and found out some things we might have never learned. And we won’t be plagued with the thought of “what-if I had tried that.” Even if we tried and it didn’t work out the way we’d hoped, at least we found out.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)

Sometimes God leads us down roads that don’t make much sense. Why? Because he is training us. He’s training us in the things we view as little. God uses these opportunities to mature and develop us so we can handle more responsibilities later. Have you ever had a job and wondered what you’d gotten yourself into? God has placed you there, and He gives you grace for your place. See that job for the opportunity it is; don’t waste the grace or the place. It is your training ground for what God in store for you. One day we will look back at life and see that, like Joseph, what we thought was meant as evil against us was actually used by God for our good.

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Genesis 50:20 (KJV)

God used everything Joseph went through for his development. What he went through was training for reigning. In the same way, God is using what you’re going through and have gone through for your development. I’m sure Joseph did not understand God’s plan while he was in the midst of suffering. We don’t always see God’s plan clearly, but in time God makes it clear to us and we see what God was doing for us all along.

So, we must make the most of each day we’ve been given. God uses each day to get us closer and closer to what He has for us. So, view opposition as an opportunity. Take advantage of who you are and where you are now because it is developing you. Live, learn, love, and laugh in all of your days- not just the good ones. This is the only life you have so capitalize on it. Like Joseph, God can take you from the pit to the palace in one day. God was with him, and God is with you to bless you, give you favor, and use you to help others.

Just stay faithful; God is watching and working all things out for your good. As you pass the trust test, the faithfulness test, and the love test, God will lift you up and out of where you are, placing you in the spot He has prepared for you for such a time as this. This current situation will not last forever. God is putting things together, and it will all come together in His time. And when it does, you will look back and say, “God, that is what you were up to all along!”

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21 (KJV)
