One Life to Live

For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. I Peter 3:10-11 (KJV)

God is life. Life comes from God and He has given us all one life to live. Will we accept life, or reject it? Will we love it or hate it? Will we embrace it or resist it? Will we make the most of life or will we just waste it? Will we do our best or just enough to get by? Will we really live or just exist?

Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. James 4:13-15 (KJV)

We can choose to be who we want to be in life and do what we want, whether good or bad. After all, God has given each of us a free will and the right to choose. We didn’t choose to be here, but now that we’re here, we must choose life, to live it to the full. We choose whether we will enjoy our life or be miserable with it. Once life is over, we cannot get it back, so we all need to live the best we can so we have fewer regrets.

Life is God’s gift to us. What will you do with the gift of life? Will you glorify God with it or live to gratify yourself? Life is short, so love, it, live it, and enjoy it. We can choose the life we want- good or bad- blessing or cursing. Don’t wish your life away or try to hurry it up because it will go faster than you think.

Live a happy, peaceful, and free life in Christ. Jesus gave us His own life to save us, so let’s give God our lives to reach others. The more we die to self, the more we can live unto God. We each have one life to live, so let’s live it to the full. We each have one life to give, so let’s give it our all.
