Good God, Evil Devil
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 (KJV)
Jesus spoke these words, and this verse serves as the dividing line between good and evil, between God and the devil. It tells us who is evil and does evil. It also says to us who is good and does good. It tells us that the thief, the devil, steals, kills, and destroys. If something is bad, it comes from satan. If there is stealing involved, killing involved, or destruction involved, it originated from the thief. On the other hand, it shows us that Jesus, who is God, is good and does only good. He came not to take away from us, but to give us life and a life that is more abundant.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Acts 10:38 (KJV)
Here is yet another verse that clearly shows that God is good and the devil is evil. Even the names testify to the difference between God and the devil. We see the letters GOD in the word good. And we see the word EVIL in the name of the devil. God is good and the Source of all that is good. The devil is evil and is the source of all that is evil.
It’s very simple, but its amazing how many people get it wrong. God is good, but they blame Him for sickness, death, etc. Those things are sent to steal, kill and destroy, therefore they come from the devil, not God. Don’t blame God for evil; blame the one who is really responsible for evil- the devil. And when good comes, be sure to thank God for it because it came from Him.
