God is Everything We Need- Part 2

And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you. Exodus 3:14 (KJV)

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58 (KJV)

I AM is God’s personal name: I AM That I AM. From this, the Hebrew word Yahweh (Jehovah) is derived. It speaks of God being present and active. I AM means to be. God will be to us whatever we need Him to be. It is telling us that whatever we need God to be, He is present and is that very thing for us. He is present, and He is our Father who loves and cares for His children.

The name I AM speaks of God’s self-existence and self-sufficiency. He has always been and He does not need anyone or anything to make Him God. He exists all on His own. God is God and is God of Himself. He is the eternal God, eternal in existence, having no beginning and no end.

In John’s Gospel, we read that Jesus called Himself the I AM. He is whatever we need Him to be. He said, I Am the Good Shepherd. I AM the bread of life. I AM the way the truth and the life. You get the idea. If you need healing, I AM is your Healer. if you need provision, I AM will give you all you need.

God is a personal God who wants to be there for each of His children. There is no need to fear for I AM is here. There’s no need to stress, because I AM is our rest. God is everything we need. He is present and His presence is always with us.
