Praise Prevails
Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. Psalm 8:2 (New International Version, NIV)
May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands, to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron, to carry out the sentence written against them— this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord. Psalm 149:6-9 (New International Version, NIV)
God has given us praise to put back in order what has gotten out of order. Praise is our authority and strength to silence any and every enemy, whether natural or spiritual enemy. We can silence every voice that rises up against us. We can execute vengeance, or a sentence or punishment, upon the nations. When they get out of line, we can use praise to God as a weapon to enforce divine order and justice, bringing recompense in the earth over every enemy.
We can bind the works of darkness, of evil spirits and evil people. When evil spirits work through evil people, we don’t have to sit by and take it. Instead, we can open our mouths and brandish a sword in the spirit, a sword of praise to bind all enemies and enforce their defeat. We can stop all their plans and undo all the evil our enemies have done. Praise will shut their mouths. It will stop their evil doings. It is written in God’s Word for us to do this and watch Him move and see His plans prevail.
As we praise God, our enemies will be defeated and we will see the manifestation of all God has done and is doing through our praise. Praise gives God an avenue and a weapon to use, working with us to bring righteousness, justice, vindication, and recompense.
We are to be a people of praise, enforcing God’s kingdom and will in the earth. As we do, every wrong will be made right, every enemy defeated, and goodness will rule. Praise prevails.
