It's All Good- Part 2
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
When we were born again, we became a new creation. The old, bad, sin nature; the old spirit, passed away. God made you a brand new spirit man: one of good, one with a good spirit, one with a good nature. God Himself came to live inside you, filling you with Himself. Since He is good, you’ve been filled with goodness (Galatians 5:23). Now that your spirit is good, you want to do good. You want to be and act like your Father God, who is good.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17 (KJV)
God gives good gifts, therefore we can give good gifts. God doesn’t give anything bad, just good. We can give good things as well. Even when circumstances are bad, we can release goodness to change things because God and His goodness are in us.
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. I John 4:4 (KJV)
We have the power of goodness in us to make our lives good and to help others. We don’t have to put up with the bad. In Christ, we are the head, and we can put bad back in its place- under our feet. Bad is defeated. Therefore, when things go badly, we can make things good again. We can overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21) by being and doing good (Psalm 37:27).
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. II Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
Jesus never sinned, but He took our sin when he became sin to make us righteous. Each of us became a new creation in Christ. Jesus made us righteous, no longer with a sin nature, but with a nature of the goodness and righteousness of God. We have God’s righteousness, which is why the Word calls us the righteousness of God.
Now that we’re made righteous, we can right wrongs. Righteousness overcame sin. Because our sin nature has been conquered in Christ, we can overcome sin. We don’t have to yield to sin or say yes to it. We have a righteous nature, a nature that is good, so we can say no to sin. As we do, we will see the goodness of the Lord in our lives (Psalm 84:11, Psalm 27:13). Evil is defeated and God’s goodness prevails in us. So, we see change everywhere because where God’s goodness shows up (in us), evil is blown up. Out with the bad and in with the good.
God is good and He’s made it all good. As we declare that God is good and walk in the goodness He’s placed in us, bad will pass away. God’s goodness endures forever; it is everlasting!
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1 (New International Version, NIV)
