Ask, Act, Accept

The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord. Proverbs 16:1 (KJV)

We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer. Proverbs 16:1 (New Living Translation, NLT)

To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. Proverbs 16:1 (New International Version, NIV)

When we want to know what God wants or what He has for us, we must ask for wisdom. Then, we must act on that wisdom. Finally, we must accept the results that we know are from God. We can make our own plans, but the right answer comes from the Lord.

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9 (New Living Translation, NLT)

It is our part to make plans. It is God’s part to guide us in what to do and how to do it. Go to Him. Ask Him for His wisdom and guidance on the matter at hand. Once He gives it to you (because He definitely will if you ask Him), act on it. Then, accept the outcome, knowing that no matter what it looks like, God knows best. His ways are the best. When we accept His way of doing things, things turn out even better than we had planned. We think one way, but God thinks even bigger to bless us more than we ever imagined.

Always remember that when you make a mistake, if your heart is right, God will make a way to work it out exactly according to His plan. Just ask, act, and accept, and everything will turn out right.
