Daily Feeding, Daily Filling- Part 1

Daily Feeding:

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4 (KJV)

Daily Filling:

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)

Jesus said in Matthew 4:4 that we need to feed on God’s Word daily. As we read, we should allow God to speak to us, giving us a word from His written Word.. Let daily time in the Word be your feeding. Begin your day with God’s Word and what He speaks to you. Then feed on it all day, meditating on it, rolling it over ad over in your heart and mind. This keeps your attention focused on God. That Word will feed you, giving you God’s spiritual nutrition.

As we feed on God’s Word, we will be filled with God Himself. Feed daily on the bread of His presence. The more we do, the more we will encounter God. God’s presence can be found in His Word. More Word means more of God.

God’s Word is like manna. God speaks and we must gather up what he says and feed on it each day. This makes us strong, healthy, and wise. If we feed on it and become filled to overflowing, we’ll never lack enough Word to give some of it to others. Feed abundantly on the Word, then minister to others out of the overflow. The feeding and filling is for you, but the overflow is for others.

Don’t go even one day without feeding on God’s Word and filling up on His presence. As you do, the Word will be in you and on your lips, enabling you to speak God’s Word and release His presence wherever you go.
