1,000-Fold
May the Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times more numerous than you are, and bless you as He has promised you! Deuteronomy 1:11 (NKJV)
God spoke these words through Moses to the children of Israel. He was speaking of a 1,000-fold blessing. We are accustomed to claiming an increase of 30, 60 or 100-fold over what we sow, but there is no reason we cannot expect a 1,000-fold increase.
And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” Mark 4:20 (New Living Translation, NLT)
In the parable of the sower, Jesus was referring to the harvest that would be produced by the those who receive the seed of the Word of God. This supports the principle that a harvest greater than what was sown can be expected whenever something is sown. Many people, however, limit God to giving them only as much as 100-fold from what they sow. While it is always wise to stick to Scripture in what we believe, why do we think that God cannot do greater than 100-fold? Jesus was giving us a principle in showing that the Word produces when it is sown- and it produces an increase.
So, let’s take that principle and apply it to Deuteronomy 1:11. If the Lord expressed that a blessed people could expect to reproduce enough to increase their population 1,000-fold, then we can expect God’s blessing to produce that level of increase in our lives. The blessing of God always produces and enriches.
The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it. Proverbs 10:22 (New International Version, NIV)
Meditate on this and ask God to show you the amount of increase to believe Him for. Our God is without limits, and we should not limit Him regarding how much to bless us with. If we tap into the blessing of God, we can expect to receive increase without limits. It is good to receive 30, 60, or 100-fold, or even 1,000-fold, but God owns it all and can bless us abundantly above all we can ask or think.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
Our God knows no limits, so let’s stop trying to limit what He can do for us. Then, we can go out and bless others with what we receive.
