Thou Shalt Not Freak Out
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. Isaiah 26:3 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (Amplified Bible Classic Edition, AMPC)
These verses tell us that we should trust in God and keep our minds focused on Him, no matter what seems to be going on around us. This produces peace in the middle of the storm. God knows things we do not. He sees all, and He has strategies and plans that go beyond our understanding. When we trust God and refuse to be shaken by what is happening, we are steadfast and sure. Then, we can take the right steps and stand firm against deception and every evil thing.
When we do this, we are staying in faith and keeping our peace. I believe God would tell us today, “Thou shalt not freak out.” Yes, the events of the past few days, not to mention the past few years, have been intended to shake us and shift us away from faith in God’s plan. We must refuse to be shaken. It takes a conscious decision to stand in faith and not be moved. Let’s make that decision right now. Decree this or something like it right now- out loud:
“God, right now I choose to keep my trust in You and in Your Word. I know your plans for me are good and not evil, plans to help me and not harm me, plans to give me a hope and future. I rely on your strategy and not on my own. I refuse to believe everything I see and hear, but instead I focus on You and your Word, for that is where I find truth. I know you are working. I know that, through the blood of Jesus, your protection is over this nation and over our rightful leader. No weapon formed against us or him will prosper. Every wicked plan will come back upon the heads of those who are perpetrating them. The plans of the enemy shall fail because darkness never wins over light. I decree victory for the righteous and failure to the evil one, in Jesus’ name.”
Then, go ahead and use your authority to kick the devil in the teeth.
“I say to you, satan, that your plans fail. I speak defeat to you and your followers. Your plans are doomed and will not succeed in any way. The traps you have laid will trap you, and the plans you are attempting to carry out will turn upon you and yours. I declare that the blood of Jesus is against you. You cannot cross the blood line and I enforce your total defeat and loss, right now in the name of Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords- and the One who defeated you once and for all!”
Now, go and relax. Take a bubble bath. Have a latte. Enjoy your life, and refuse to be moved. And don’t let yourself freak out. God’s got this!
