Faithful

His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:23 (KJV) emphasis mine

Faithful is the Greek word pistos, which means reliable, loyal, trustworthy.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9 (LKV) emphasis mine

This tells us that God Himself is faithful.

God is faithful and He wants His children to be faithful as well. God uses, blesses, and promotes faithful people. As we are faithful in the little things right where we’re at- training and growing- God is preparing us for more and for better things. What we do now counts for this time and for all eternity.

Our faithfulness, or our level of trustworthiness and reliability, determines the level of rewards and rulership entrusted to us, as well as the joy of God’s presence- and so much more.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Galatians 5:22 (KJV) emphasis mine

The word faith in this verse is translated as faithfulness in numerous versions such as the New International Version (NIV), New Living Translation (NLT), New American Standard Bible (NASB), and the Amplified Bible (AMP), just to name a few.. Faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit. God’s Spirit is faithful, and He wants us to be the same way.

Believers are faithful ones who are full of faith, dependable, and loyal. By faith, we’re faithful to God and to one another. Faithful believers are full of faith and we’re faithful where God places us, having the faith to carry out the few things God has given us to do. As we’re faithful to do the small things and do them to the best of our ability, we grow in faithfulness to receive bigger things from God.

God uses little things to make big things. God is preparing us for more- in this life and in the life to come.
