Super Supplements

Christians are to feed on the Word of God- it is our spiritual food and sustenance. Just as we need to eat physical food daily to stay strong, we must eat spiritual food daily. In addition, many of us take nutritional supplements to accompany the food we eat and make the food beneficial to our bodies. In the same way, there are spiritual supplements that we can utilize to activate the Word of God in our lives.

Faith

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

Faith is one such supplement. Faith arises when we receive the Word of God. We need faith to release the promises in God’s Word and we need the Word of God to release faith. They are intertwined and interdependent.

Prayer

Never stop praying. I Thessalonians 5:17 (New Living Translation, NLT)

When we pray the Word of God to God, it reminds Him of what He has said in His Word and helps to manifest the Word in our lives. And when we also pray in tongues, it activates the power of God to bring His Word to pass. And listening to god speak is part of prayer. Conversation cannot happen unless both parties are permitted to speak.

Confession

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 (New Living Translation, NLT)

Confession, or the verbal declaration of something we believe, supernaturally activates our faith in what God has said in His Word and brings it to pass. Confession was a critical component of of our salvation and it is also needed for our faith to be effective in any area of life.

Action

The fact is, faith has to show itself through works performed in faith. James 2:20 (The Voice, VOICE)

It is ineffective to read the Bible and believe it without acting on what we believe. We have to act as if whatever we’re believing God for has come to pass in order for it to come to pass. These are called steps of faith. we have to take steps of faith in order to walk the Christian walk.

Fasting

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Acts 13:2 (New International Version, NIV)

Fasting decreases the power of our flesh and allows us to hear more clearly from God, The flesh si in direct opposition to the things of God, so fasting weakens the influence of the flesh over us and allows us to receive from God and His Word. Fasting does not move God to action, but it does remove that which distracts us from hearing Him.

Worship

Honor the Lord for the glory of his name. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. Psalm 29:2 (New Living Translation, NLT)

Thanksgiving and worship bring us into the presence of God. In His presence is fullness of joy, and all we need is found in Him.

Fellowship

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20 (New International Version, NIV)

As believers come together, honoring God and fellowshipping around His Word, Jesus is in their midst.

As we daily ingest generous amounts of the Word of God, we can make it of more benefit by use of these spiritual supplements. Don’t neglect your spiritual health- be sure to take your supplements.
