No Fear of Death

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; II Corinthians 1:9-10 (KJV)

At times we will face things, situations where there is danger of death. These situations serve to show us to trust in God and not in ourselves. There are things in life that are beyond us- beyond our comprehension and ability- but not beyond God. We can be reassured in any situation that no matter what- even if we die, it isn’t the end… God could even raise us up.

We have no fear of death because Jesus conquered death for us. Therefore, we can face fear fearlessly. Death has no more power over us because God always has the final say. The passage above refers to God who delivered us- past tense. We have past experience with God. We know God and His power. God delivered us from death to life, so He can deliver us from anything.

God is the Deliverer, and He does deliver us. No matter what we’re going through right now, God will bring us through it to the other side. And it will be great! God will deliver us. But, even if a believer dies, it isn’t the end. And if we face death, God’s got us. Regardless of what we face, or will face, God’s got us. It’s a win-win situation for us.

So, praise God for Who He is and what He will do. Nothing is too hard for our God. Nothing is impossible with God. There is nothing God can’t and won’t do for those who trust in Him and not in themselves.
