Believe and Receive Your Miracle

Believe and Receive Your Miracle

While Jesus was still speaking, someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.” Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.” When he arrived at the house of Jairus, he did not let anyone go in with him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.” They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. Her parents were astonished, but he ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened. Luke 8:49-56 (New International Version, NIV)

Jesus was on His way to heal a little girl. Jairus, the synagogue ruler, was the girl’s father. Before they even had the chance to get to the girl, Jairus received the bad news that his daughter had died. Jesus told Jairus, “Don’t be afraid, just believe.”

Bad news comes to steal faith. Good news (the Gospel) keeps faith working. Bad news will come to deceive us and pressure us to let go of our faith so we don’t receive what we desire from Jesus. At the moment that bad news comes, we must listen to Jesus over the bad report and believe God. Fear is a tool to deceive us and steal from us. Faith is a tool for us to use to receive what God has promised. Who we listen to determines if we’ll receive or go without.

Fear says, “It’s too late. All is lost. It won’t work now.” Faith says, “Keep believing. it’s never too late, and all is not lost. Stay in faith and receive your miracle.”

When Jesus and Jairus arrived at Jairus’ house, they faced more opposition from the people there. Jesus removed them from the house. Why? because God can’t work in an atmosphere of doubt and unbelief, but in an atmosphere of faith and trust. Often, we must remove faithless people or other negative influences from our midst in order to receive our breakthrough. Jesus spoke to the girl, “Get up.” Her spirit returned to her body and she was raised from death to life.

Receive the good news of the Word and don’t any attention to the bad news. Reject fear and embrace faith. Remove negative influences that contradict your faith. And speak to the issue, commanding your miracle to manifest in the name of Jesus. This is how we believe and receive.
