God Does Care
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. I Peter 5:7 (KJV)
When we experience something that we’d rather not experience, we must remember that God cares. Whether we go through disappointment, loss, sickness, or having to wait for something to come to pass, we must not think that God doesn’t care.
The enemy brings all kinds of troubles, hurts, hardships, and trials, trying to convinve us that God doesn’t care. The longer we’re in a difficult situation, the more tempting it can be to believe God doesn’t care.
So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass, when they were come to Bethlehem, that all the city was moved about them, and they said, Is this Naomi? And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me. I went out full and the Lord hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the Lord hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me? Ruth 1:19-21 (KJV)
Naomi and her family had gone to Moab when there was a famine in Judah, but her husband and sons died in Moab. When she returned to Bethlehem, her daughter-in-law, Ruth, insisted on coming with her. Naomi believed God didn’t care. She even blamed Him for her problems, which is never the right thing to do. She believed these things because life wasn’t going the way she wanted it to. She assumed God was against her.
Whenever everyone and everything seems to be against us, we must remember that God is for us, and He does care. If God is for us, who can be against us? However, if we believe, speak, and behave like God is against us simply because our current condition is not what we want, then we’ll come to the incorrect conclusion that God doesn’t care.
And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the Lord, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen. Ruth 2:20 (KJV)
Things began to get better for Naomi and Ruth, and we see Naomi’s attitude changing.
And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel. And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him. And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it. And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David. Ruth 4:14-19 (KJV)
When things go badly and everything we see looks bad, we must keep in mind that God is behind the scenes working in our lives to bring us a good outcome. We can’t give up in the midst of everything that’s going wrong. Keep the faith. Know for usre that God is with you and for you. He’s working things out so your ending will be better than your beginning.
In the end, Naomi found out that God cared all along. We must come to the same conclusion. What God did for Ruth and Naomi affected their lives and the generations that followed- right up until the present day. When circumstances come against us, we must know God does care. He is perfecting that which concerns us. Because God cares, He will take care of us.
