Don't Miss The Moment

Don't Miss The Moment

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Ephesians 5:15-17 (New International Version, NIV)

Wherever you are in life, don’t miss the reason you are there. Don’t miss the moment, but make the most of it. No season of our lives should be wasted. We don’t need to fight who we are or where we are.

So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:31-34 (New International Version, NIV)

God didn’t put us on earth so we could be stressed out and miserable. Instead of fighting life, embrace it and make the most out of each day. Live your life the way God wants you to- trusting Him and choosing to be happy, peaceful and fulfilled. If we’re just waiting for the next thing, counting the time until we’re past our current situation, we’ll miss valuable life lessons. Those lessons can prepare us for the next season, and we don’t want to miss them.

Once a day is over, you can’t get it back, so don’t hate your day or your life. Just because things aren’t perfect, don’t toss the day away. Instead, live it, learning, laughing, and loving, regardless of what’s going on around you. You’ll enjoy life more, and it will be easier.

If we don’t learn life lessons, we will repeat them over and over. Don’t let anyone, including yourself, keep you stuck. Learn and move on. God has so much more in store. Pass the test of today to move onto God’s best. Don’t miss the moment of today because today is all we’ve got.

So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. Ecclesiastes 3:22 (New International Version, NIV)
