Resurrection Power Is Ours
But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:5-6 (NKJV)
Jesus was risen from the dead. He lives forever. The power of the Holy Spirit burst into hell and brought Him back from the dead. The price for the sins of all mankind has been paid. We now have access to the Father. We can have of all the things Jesus died to give us, including forgiveness of sins, right standing with God, healing, provision, peace, and wisdom, among others. Jesus’ blood ratified a new and better covenant. And in addition to of all this, we now have Holy Spirit power living inside us.
But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:9-11 (NKJV) emphasis mine
Those who are saved have the Spirit of Christ living in them. The same power that rose Jesus from the dead is inside us and can energize and empower us to live the Christian life. On top of that, we can be filled with the Holy Spirit in the same way the original apostles and disciples were filled on the day of Pentecost (see Acts 2). Those who receive this infilling, this baptism in the Holy Spirit, can tap into the power inside them- the power that raised Jesus from the dead. That hell-busting, devil-stomping power is available to us whenever we need it. The infilling of the Holy Spirit produces the ability to speak in an unknown tongue, or language. This heavenly language can be spoken by those who have received this special Holy Spirit baptism. Using this language strengthens our inner man and allows us to talk to God in mysteries that cannot be understood by the enemy. What a game changer!
If you are born-again but have not received this infilling of the Holy Spirit, it is not difficult to receive it. We do it in the same way we received salvation- by believing in our hearts that it is a gift meant for us, and use our mouths to ask Jesus to give it to us. Because Jesus died, was resurrected, and ascended to His Father, we can now have fellowship with the wonderful Holy Spirit.
But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you]. John 16:7 (Amplified Bible, AMP)
Hallelujah! Not only is Jesus alive, but He’s sent us the Holy Spirit for close, intimate fellowship. In His boundless love, He not only saved us from death, hell, and the grave, but He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us live for Him!
Happy Resurrection Day to you all!
